Thank you very much for considering Flinders University, New Venture Institute as your destination for innovation in South Australia. Please note, we are currently not considering any applications prior to the 31st of December due to the current COVID situation.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING COVID-19

In light of travel and social interaction restrictions in place in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, please read the following points before applying for the SISA Visa:

> You can still apply for the visa. We are able to approve your application and forward them onto the Migration Department

> If approved, the commencement of your visa in Australia will be impacted. There are currently Australia-wide travel restrictions, and travel in between states is banned

> Specific conditions of the visa have changed in response to the pandemic, such as limitations on casual working hours. Your migration agent will discuss these with you if you’re successful

If you apply for the SISA Visa from the date of this announcement (9/4/2020), our team will help you understand the changes to the best of our ability, but in most cases, will elevate your enquiries to the migration department. Thank you for understanding.

What we’re looking for

The New Venture Institute is one of the South Australian innovation ecosystem service providers that can assess business ideas in order for them to be considered for endorsement by Immigration SA. Further information about the eligibility criteria is available from the Immigration SA website. We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate a strong link between their business idea, business experience and Flinders University’s areas of strength – which are:

  • Advanced Manufacturing / Industry 4.0
  • Health and Medical Technologies
  • Defence
  • Energy and Water
  • Creative and Digital Media
  • Wine and Tourism

How we assess applications

The criteria we use to assess and respond to applications are:

  • how well the idea aligns to the government’s priority industry areas (see the Immigration SA website)
  • how well the idea aligns to the Finders areas of research strength (listed above)
  • applicants past business experience
  • if we have a suitable program to match your business needs and stage of growth.

Ready for initial feedback on your business idea?

Before applying for this visa through the Immigration SA website, we strongly encourage you to seek initial feedback on your business idea from us before selecting us as your supporting agency. If you do not do this, there is a strong risk that we will not be able to support your formal application.
