How many South Australian schools does it take to crack the challenges and make the most of the opportunities of education in the future?

That’s what we’ll find out at Education Hack 4.0, as six student/teacher teams are set to gather here at Flinders at Tonsley today and tomorrow. Each team will bring their own challenge to use as a spring board for solutions and ideas based on what teaching and learning might look like in a digital future.

Using the ‘How might we?’ format to facilitate collaboration and creativity, we’ll be tackling the big issues, including:

In the face of Victoria’s recent mobile phone ban in schools, it’s clear that technology and education can be an obstacle or an opportunity, depending on your approach.
We’re looking forward to Education Hack 4.0 and seeing what genius solutions we can bring out of the teams from Pembroke School, Scotch College, St. Johns Grammar School, Banksia Park International School, Australian Science and Mathematics School and Glenunga International School.
We’ve joined with Cisco to bring you the ‘EduHack’ for the first time, as an extension of Flinders University’s partnership with the Digital Schools Network. We’ll be updating you on our socials as the two day event unfolds, and future education becomes even more exciting in the hands of the EduHack facilitators and teams!

Happy reading,

The NVI team.

P.S. If your school missed out, or your kid’s school, or your local school and you think the Education Hack 4.0 sounds pretty amazing – make sure you don’t miss out again. You can register your interest in our Innovation in Schools suite below.

We took IMA to the Limestone Coast! Carla facilitated a session with local manufacturing companies:
Introduction to Innovative Manufacturing with Industry 4.0

The participants from One Forty OneMondelezMcDonnell Industries, The Department for Trade, Tourism and Investment (DTTI) and Mount Gambier High School were given an intensive insight into the opportunities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and what it could mean for each.

The workshop took place over two days, and Carla received fantastic feedback from the participating companies, some who were there just to learn about Industry 4.0, and some who are in the research and development stage of its applications. If you missed out, you can reserve a place in the Barossa Yorke Mid North program of the same content, which takes place in July (date TBA). To find out more, contact Laki by sending him an email directly.
Or, you could grab the LAST spot in the next intake of the Innovative Manufacturing Accelerator. Find out more about this experiential and extremely valuable program for advanced manufacturers by following the link below!

A CASE STUDY & A CONGRATULATIONS: Our Flinders Enterprise Consulting teams have just completed their projects for Semester One.

Working with skilled industry mentors to ensure the student projects are valuable solutions for the client, once again we’ve been impressed by the standard of each consulting firm. For students and participating businesses, FEC is the best way for the students to prepare for the job market, while providing premium solutions for the companies they work with.

It can be difficult to visualise the process between students, businesses, their mentors and the advisory board, so we put together a case study of Port Pirie Council’s FEC project, for you to read! Just follow the link below to get your downloadable case study.
