This Monday, (22/04) it was Earth Day! A day of reflection and appreciation for this hardworking planet. Our question is… do you think innovation in business can make a real impact on the health of our earth?

Between the businesses that go through our programs like the Professional Certificate and Venture Dorm, work from within our eNVIsion co-working incubator or have simply become part of the NVI community through our events or following along on our socials – we’re surrounded by innovators who are working hard to reduce the man-made footprint, live better and grow smarter as a population.

There’s Sivam and Jarrod of GoMicro in eNVIsion, who help farmers detect insects and disease on their crops with clip-on microscopes. At the moment, Louise is going through Venture Dorm with her reusable bonbon idea and online waste-free community. Last year, Dean was a finalist at the eNVIes with the energy-saving ecoVent and Matthew Stead of Ping Services just returned from the eNVI.US19 Startup Founders trip to the US and our mission to Hannover Messe in Berlin – representing his solution that detects damage on wind turbines.

There are so many other people and organisations doing huge things around repurposing waste, reducing our use of single plastics, encouraging more renewable sources of energy and thinking differently about our impact and how we can help rather than harm.

So, after being inspired by Earth Day 2019, we encourage you to take the time and effort to actively support the businesses around you that are making positive steps toward change, no matter the scale.

Is there an Australian business using innovation to heal the earth that we should know about? Reply to this email and let us know why!

The NVI team.

Congratulations to all of our Australian Awards Indonesia participants for graduating from this year’s program. We were amazed by the variety and accomplishments of the group.
We celebrated the end of the group’s time here in Australia by hearing some of their pitches, and can’t wait to see what’s next for these bright minds – and for Indonesia and Australia.

We’ll have the full rundown on the experience ready for you to catch up on soon, but until then, enjoy one of our startup founder’s – Anugrah Nurrewa of Banopolis – recap HERE.

Meet: Adam Grocke, founder of RefiME, Australia’s first mortgage marketplace. Adam graduated Venture Dorm in 2017, delivering his pitch about startup RefiME to perfection and winning the Gold eNVIe! This gave him the life-changing opportunity to join eNVI.US18, NVI’s Startup Founder’s Mission to the entrepreneurial US. Adam’s time in Venture Dorm was a valuable part of his startup journey: “If anyone’s got the feeling of not knowing where to start, Venture Dorm helps them go from idea to validation, before spending any money.”

Since Venture Dorm: Adam and his team have worked extremely hard to develop the RefiME platform and are now gearing up for their first round of seed funding. The RefiME platform aims to provide the country’s lowest interest rates and simplify the home loan process. With the click of a button, you can switch your loan to any bank or lender, significantly reducing mortgage approval time. By using RefiME, you’ll be notified of any better deals as the algorithm scans offers 24/7. You can then accept the offer and switch vendors and, vendors can place private bids to entice you to switch to them.

Future: Just like Adam, we’re looking forward to seeing this platform launch and help everyday Australians secure the mortgage that will help them buy their dream home from a quick and easy platform.
If you’re interested in RefiME as a user or an investor, you can stay up to date on all the latest information and be the first notified of its upcoming launch date visiting the RefiME website.
