Public Lecture: Zero poverty, zero unemployment, and zero carbon emissions – is it possible in South Australia?

March 22, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

This free public lecture is now sold out. It will be streamed live on the Plaza SuperScreen. No ticket or registration will be required. For further information email events@flinders.edu.au.

In his latest book, A World of Three Zeros, Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus declares it’s time to admit that the capitalist engine is broken–that in its current form it inevitably leads to inequality, unemployment, and environmental destruction.

In the decade since he first began to articulate his ideas for a new form of capitalism, thousands of companies, non-profits, and individual entrepreneurs around the world have embraced them. More and more social enterprises are being created that are committed to reducing poverty, improving health care and education, cleaning up pollution, and serving other urgent human needs in ingenious, innovative ways.

He now offers a challenge to young people, business and political leaders, and ordinary citizens of South Australia to embrace his mission to eradicate poverty, unemployment and carbon emissions and so improve the prospects for everyone.

Presented by Flinders University and the Don Dunstan Foundation, supported by STEMSEL and The Wyatt Trust.

Professor Yunus’ latest book, A World of Three Zeros, will be available for purchase at the event.
