Good for the environment, good for business
August 19, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
FreeGood for the environment, good for business!
It is widely recognised that the environment should be taken into account in business: to reduce business risks associated with environmental degradation or fragile supply chains, reduce costs associated with wasted materials and energy, build customer trust and attract new clients, or even to save the planet.
But how can we do this without green-washing, and what does that mean for a start-up? Is it all just lip-service in the traditional take-make-dispose economy that we are living in?
Jodie Bricout from lifecycles has been working in Life Cycle Thinking and the Circular Economy in Europe over the past 12 years, and is currently evaluating the environmental and economic impacts of transitioning towards a Circular Economy for Green Industries South Australia. In this short, interactive session she will present the tools that help companies put hard numbers around the environmental impacts of their products and services to improve their environmental performance across the supply chain, and share insight into what a “circular economy” – one that keeps products, components and materials at their highest value at all times – could look like.
