Legals for Business 101 | Limestone Coast
April 15, 2019 @ 5:15 pm - 6:30 pmFree
Starting a new business venture?
There are so many things to think about and ensure you ‘check off’. It’s too easy to ignore the legal issues because they can seem like a minefield of problems, so they’re left to last. Taking the time to get your legal paperwork in order ahead of time pays off big as your company grows. It’s great to see you’re a step ahead — on that upward curve to success. Planning ahead!
Pulling together all of that initial legal work is difficult and time-consuming…… that’s where the Flinders Legal Centre (FLC) comes in.
FLC has developed a Three Phased Entrepreneur Clinic. A completely free service, designed to deliver legal advice specific to new business start-ups. That includes yours!
The ‘Legals for Business 101’ workshop is the first phase of the Entrepreneur Clinic. The aim is to give you an overview and brief appreciation of a range of legal areas that may be relevant to your business.
The Legals for Business 101 Workshop will outline:
- Protecting ideas and Intellectual Property
- Business structures and commercial relationships
- Doing business online
- Labour: Employment and Outsourcing
After the workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to sign up to the second and third phase:
Following the workshop, the second phase of the Entrepreneur Clinic will give you the opportunity to see a legal team comprised of students and supervised by a lawyer. This team will deliver confidential, specialised legal advice about your specific concerns The appointment will commence on the 16th of April 2019 on a one time only basis at the South East Community Legal Service, 9 Penola Road Mount Gambier.

No written advice will be provided at this appointment, instead, the third phase provides the advice in writing within 4 weeks of the initial appointment.
The appointment and written process are completely free and confidential.
We look forward to seeing you at the workshop to begin your legal journey!
