It’s been a confusing start to the year, and just as we would normally be launching into a full calendar of events and programs, we’re here to give you an update on how we are working through the challenges of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
We’re following the University’s recommendations as they monitor the situation, and have the health and wellbeing of our team, students, program participants, event attendees and anyone who works with us in any other capacity, at the forefront of any decisions we make.
Our community is at the heart of everything we do, so we’re working hard to understand the growing impact that government actions might have on different people in our networks. As a large portion of our community is made up of small to medium business owners, we recognise the impact that the disruption to business-as-usual is likely to have and we are adapting accordingly. To do our part, we’re aiming to:
- Maintain the operation of Flinders New Venture Institute’s facilities as much as possible, including the eNVIsion incubator program, in our Metropolitan and regional locations
- Inform our community as regularly as possible when changes to the government’s restrictions directly affect our programs and activities
- Provide continuity to existing programs where possible
- Take the recommended measures for stringent hygiene and social practices, on top of the current cleaning services provided by the University.
To monitor each of these objectives, we’ve established an NVI COVID-19 Response Team, covering everything from operations to communications. In a further bid to slow the spread, we have had to adjust some of our programs due to start in the coming weeks. If these adjustments affect you, you’ll be contacted directly by the program coordinator, who will give you more detail about what the plan is moving forward.
If you have any questions about NVI’s response to COVID-19, please fill out this form: NVI COVID-19 and we’ll direct it to the correct person in our Response Team for action as soon as possible.
